Default Sick and Tired!

I'm sure I am not the only one when I say that I am sick and tired for people taking our club for granted. After a great boxing day preformance, Glentoran fans went on a 15 minute distruction period where they caused ££££'s of pounds worth of damage, got a game temporarily abandoned, fans entering the field of play and not to mention got the PSNI riot squad called into the ground. After 20 minutes of this (8 of which had the match stopped) fans continued to throw fireworks and other missiles in the direction of the KOP. Needless to say when the match restarted it was very dull and boring, and thanks to the actions of around 100 (at peak) it brung the biggest game of the season into the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Now when leaving I decided to tune into Radio Ulster, and while listening, I heard our idiotic chairman come out and SYMPATHISE with the Glentoran chairman and his club. As (AND I QUOTE) "we have our own certain element of fans who like to cause trouble." As bad as this comment was he went on to say how Linfield have in recent weeks to boxing day have banned up to 5 people for up to 5 years. Again I know I wasn't the only one that thought, 'that if the shoe had have been on the other foot, the Glentoran board would have done everything in their power to make sure Linfield got fined banned and points deducted! Guess what happened.... Glentoran board released a statement...The Boxing Day incident raised a number of issues on which we will seek clarification. These include problems in regard to stewarding and policing, the prolonged singing of party songs in the Kop (contrary to UEFA 10 Point Plan), fireworks being launched from Kop towards the North Stand and the non-functioning of the PA system in North Stand. So while our Chairman sympthises with Glentoran, their chairman is writing a statement trying to shift the blame to Linfield.

Which takes me onto my next point last night, (13/1/09) Linfield played host to Cliftonville in a re-arranged game. Now this game was always going to be a high catergory game after the Climville fans struck a Linfield player with a display firework. During the game Cliftonville players and officals in the directors added to the already tense atmophere by telling a number of Linfield fans to sit down leading to a couple of stewards being put in and around the Directors box.

Now the on the field antics of the players and coaches of Cliftonville tried their very best to intimadate the officals. Eddie Patterson was clearly seen pushing the 4th offical on a number of occasions and entering the playing field to have a go at the referee who did nothing wrong for the goal. Eddie not only embarrassed himself but he brung the game into disrepute. When Alan Black finally had the balls to send him off, Eddie refused to go into the Directors box and decided for some unknown reason to walk infront of the Kop stand, who like EVERYOTHER team in the world would give abuse to him as he walked past, but Eddie decided to 'BLESS' himself infront of the stand, to achieve nothing other than to insite the crowd and to get a reaction, unfortuneately he did get a reaction from a fan who lobbed 1 bottle of soft juice bought inside the ground (for safety, these bottles are bought without lids). So this 1ft heavy bottle 3/4 full struck someone over 30 yards away? What really happened? 1 750ml bottle was lobbed its contents sprayed over Eddie and his sidekick Lawlor. Although the bottle struck Lawlor this did so while the bottle was almost empty on the side, leaving no mark what so ever! According to Eddie on UTV it left Lawlor in pain and bruised? Seriously Eddie did it? So much so he was able to cheer and clap when his team score? I ask anyone to throw a 3/4 full bottle with no lid 30-40 yards and see how much is left in it when it lands....

UTV news not once mentioned how Eddie behaved before getting sent off, UTV did not mention the secterian and gestures towards Linfield fans from Cliftonvilles manager. I have also not seen nor heard about the Cliftonville player who wore a terriost sympthisers t-shirt, who's aim was to get a reaction out of Linfield fans.

Now just as boxing day Linfield Chairman comes out and say's that the people who lobbed 1 bottle will be banned from Windsor. While the Cliftonville board where making up more lies and trying to deflect the blame away from their secterian club. I mean this is the same Eddie Patterson who said on TV that he couldn't be sure where the firework came from when Conor Hagan was struck with it.

How many times is our chairman going to leave himself open for other people to slate us the next day and make Linfield out to be the bad club. I am sick to the back teeth of our chairman coming out saying what he is going to do to OUR supporters before saying whats going to happen with the other clubs and people who bring these unwanted press headlines towards our club.

This is a time where being a Linfield fan is going to be tough and we as fans must stand up and be counted!

Rant over

Yours in Blue Mojo

Sorry for poor spelling but im not looking over it. I hpe you get the jist of what Im saying.

Good points Mojo, well said. In future though when you are going on a similar rant you might want to get an editor?
