Default The Law Of The Irish League Playground

Remember school trips?

Sometimes, there were school trips that people wanted to go on, but there were limited places.

Some kids (Larne, Armagh, Limavady) didn't apply for a place.

Some kids (Portadown) handed their permission slip in late, and as a result, weren't allowed to go. While disappointed, they just got on with it.

As places were at a premium, someone would miss out. In order to be fair, the teacher decides to use the results of the forthcoming exams to decide who gets to go.

Everyone knows the rules, and prepare accordingly for the exam, in order to get the score they need to get on the trip.

Unfortunately, there will be one kid to miss out, It was usually some bitchy girl who thinks she's wonderful and that the school would fall apart without her.

Even though she didn't prepare properly for the exam, it's still a disgraceful decision she didn't get picked. The teachers are picking on her of course.

Complains to the headmaster, complains to the local authorty, gurns to anyone who listens, gets the local politician involved for a few soundbites on the local news.

The bigger the fuss is made, they'll have to let her in

She then decides to pick on the students who got a place on the trip in the hope of bullying and guilt-tripping the decision makers into taking their place.

You know the sort of thing, starting rumours in the playground

"Crusaders did this, Crusaders did that ......... How come Bangor get to go?"

You see, she's sweet and innocent and does nothing wrong. She's got lots of 'friends' coming out of the woodwork who are prepared to back her up, cos she's really popular, yet, nobody has ever seen them together.

That's what Donegal Celtic are doing.

And yet they wonder why people won't take them seriously.
