Linfield v Glentoran

Boxing Day

Linfield FC has tonight been fined £1,000 as a result of an incident occuring at the above fixture.

In addition, Linfield and Glentoran have both been barred from hosting a Big Two game on a public holiday for the next two years.

Linfield FC has tonight been fined £750 as a result of an incident occuring at the above fixture.

At this stage Linfield FC would like to register the club's disappointment at the outcome of tonight's hearings.

The club will be taking further counsel in these matters and a further statement will be released in due course.

IFA Disciplinary Meeting
Monday 16th February
Following an IFA Disciplinary Committee meeting this evening Glentoran FC have received confirmation on punishments to be served as a result of the crowd trouble that took place during the traditional Boxing Day fixture between Glentoran and Linfield on December 26th 2008.
The committee have decided that both clubs should be fined £1000 each. Further to this, it has been determined that Glentoran and Linfield will be banned from playing each other on any public holiday including any date between 24th December and 2nd January for the next two years.

Glentoran Football Club have decided to appeal the decision.

Once again I say thank you to those angels from Rainbow Alliance FC. Hope you're pleased with your actions.
