Linfield marked their 7-0 victory with a signing of centre-forward Paul Munster. Munster plied his trade in both the Czech Republic for Slavia Prague and in Canada with London City, notching up 25 goals in 19 appearances for the Canadian National League side. Paul started his career at Cliftonville before moving onto London City.

However ironic it was to see Linfield's forward line on fine form tonight. Michael Carville gave institute a master class in pace, movement and finishing notching up a hat-trick for himself, his third goal arguably belonged to Spike, but we'll not take that away from him.
Michaels first goal came from a smashing pass out the right wing by Glenn Ferguson to the man of the moment, Billy Joe Burns who raced towards goal, only to unselfishly square the ball to Carville who tapped into an open goal.
Less than a minute later, Carville managed to beat their offside trap and raced through 1 on 1 with the keeper and cooly slotted home from about 15 yards.
Spike also managed to grab himself a cracking goal, latching onto a great cross from Michael Carville and hammering a header into the net.

Mid-way through the second half, Carville managed to grab his hat-trick with a debateable goal, Spke hammering a shot towards goal was tipped onto the post, it seemly rolled along however arguably across the line, and a scuffle ended up rebounding the ball off Carville for his hat-trick.
Linfield brought on Mark Miskimmin who made a terrific evenings work by hammering home a cracking shot from 10 yards into the corner past the keeper.
He done a Carville a minute later, grabbing two goals in a minute, racing with only a defender and keeper to beat, his neat footwork sent both the wrong direction making an easy shot into the net.
The crowds were eager for a third for Miskimmon, however it was a second for Spike that arrived whose powerful shot in the box glanced into the net with Miskimmon just missing heading the ball home for his hat-trick.

MoTM: Michael Carville - great finishing, hard working, and setting up masses of opportunities.

Scorers: Carville 3, Ferguson 2, Miskimmon 2
